1st Not Me Monday on Tuesday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. Basically, we are bringing out the fact that we all are far from perfect!

I did not drive all the way to sign up for our Space A flight with paperwork in hand and forget to place our tourist passports in my bag...nope, not me!

Of course it wasn't me who snapped at the post office because the sweet Okinawan clerk asked if she could help the person behind me since I was filling out a customs form with her pen, I must not have expressed deeply that the package I was doing the customs form I needn't pay postage on but the envelopes I had given her needed postage...no it was not ME that SNAPPED!

I did not take a picture (Jon would not believe me if not) of my neighbors car who have decided it is safe to drive with a swing seat (thankfully not attached to the swing) in the backseat of their car and use it as a car seat for their child the same age as Jacob. Nope, not me!

It was not me that purposely scheduled Jacob's nursing around going for a walk so I would have enough time to walk on the sea wall and swing by McDonald's to grab dinner on the way home...why would i be healthy and not healthy all within in the same hour. Not ME!

I have not been blowing bubbles for Jacob outside all week thinking more bubbles are going up then down on the poor cars below our balacony. Not ME!

I did not cringe last night when Jacob started pulling on and hitting at his ear because the sure thought of having to deal with the Naval Hospitals b.s. (we don't say that soap worthy word) about how he doesn't have an ear infection when he does until I bring out the fact that I have my B.S. in nursing (really, I'm a B.S.N.) ...nope not me!

I'm happy to be perfectly imperfect!!

Favorite Photo Friday...a little late

I've been so busy trying to set up our shutterfly webpage with pictures of Jacob that I used nap time yesterday to try to load more pictures. I only got done with October and November. Our little boy has had about 15,000 pictures taken in his first 9 months! So, it is taking a lot of time to go and pick out the ones I like the most to share with our family back home who have only seen Jacob once or twice!

We took some pictures in Jacob's robe for Jon's email and this is what I got when I said the word "Daddy"

This is Jacob watching Jon read him books on the computer. He misses his Daddy. I'm so glad we got a chance to actually record Jon before he left this time. Jacob can be anywhere in our apartment and if I turn the volume up on the computer and start a video he gets to the office quickly and he is usually out of breath!

We said goodbye to Jacob's swing this week. We sold it for $60 and it is actually on it's way to England. That is the next duty station for the family that bought it from us!! I had to take one last picture of him in it!

Did he really just put himself to sleep??

Did Jacob really just put himself to sleep all by himself for the first time ever!?!?! Usually it takes either some rocking or some time nursing before he will fall asleep unless of course he is in the car. I nursed him and he wasn't wanting to sleep. So I put him in his crib, turned the music part of the mobile on, listended to him talk to himself for a few minutes, checked on him when he got quiet and what did i find?? A sleeping baby nestled against his bumper pad with eyes closed!! Maybe I won't dread bed time once he is weaned in 3 months anymore.

So my slick little monkey...

So, tonight in the tub out of the blue my slick little monkey decides that he is going to reach up from where he is safely sitting in the tub, grasp the side of the tub, proceed to get on his knees only to pull himself all the way up to his feet. The look on his face was priceless. It was so full of pride and accomplishment. I returned him every time after a few minutes of standing to a sitting position only for him to return to standing within ten seconds!!

Father's Day!

It was love at first! I believe that Jon fell in love with Jacob at first sight...well maybe once all the goey slime was cleaned off but still I think he fell in love with him immediately just like I did. Jacob has changed both of our lives forever! That is the honest truth of it. I always knew that Jon would be a good dad but what I didn't realize was what a GREAT dad he would be and that when he became a Dad I would fall in love with him all over again. I absolutely love watching Jon and Jacob together. I seriously think that Jacob thinks Jon always comes home to play with him. They have a blast together whether it's playing their peek-a-boo game on our bed, bath time, spa daddy time or reading books. They both always have smiles on their faces! I love them both so very much. Happy First Father's Day Jon...even if you are surrounded by water on the tuna can!

Eating sand is good!

Today was the first day in well over a week that the sun came out to play! We have had swimming lesson for a week and every lesson has almost totally been in the rain! This morning we woke up to sunshine. Jacob and myself headed out to Araha Park/Beach where we use to live to go and walk along the beach on the sea wall. I wanted to be outside today. We ran into friends from the squadron and actually ended up back at the beach after a quick milk snack for Jacob and a change of clothes. Jacob loved the beach. The last time we went to Araha with him was 7 months ago. He didn't like it then. He really didn't even like the Florida beach either but today my waterbug loved it! I don't know if he had more fun eating the sand, feeling the sand, playing in the sand, sitting in the water and having it come up on him, floating in the water, or attempting to get washed off but he had fun or at least I think he had fun! We even ended up taking a bath together because he had sand in every possible crevice on his body! And the sand here is gritty and rough not smooth like the white beaches in Florida so the stuff gets nasty when it gets wet! I was so thankful to have a sunshine filled day! Back to the rain for another week tomorrow!

Favorite Photo Friday

Jacob sure does love his Daddy! He didn't want to let go when Jon was saying 'see you real soon' to him before deploying again.

Playing peek-a-boo with one of the flat Daddy's I made for him. He was sliding Flat Daddy under the rug and then lifting the rug up and finding him. He will sometimes sit or lay and hold his Flat Daddy up that he is playing with and just talk to it!
He is such my little ham! He was all dressed for bed. It was his first time wearing shorts to be ever so of course I had to take a picture!
