My favorite Disney photopass photo...
Disney now does a new thing where they hand you a card when you visit a park and then their photographers will shoot your family and then you can view your pictures at your own computer later. Unfortunately, we did not realize that they would also take a picture with your personal camera as well until the second day! This is my favorite picture of Jacob that they took!

He said MaMaMa!!!!!
Yesterday, I ended up taking Jacob to the Naval Hospital ER here since he spiked a fever the night prior. The highest it ever got was 101.5 that we know of but still he had never had a fever before. I knew that he had been pulling on his left ear for about a week but dismissed it as a sign of teething since his two top teeth are coming in and he didn't have any other signs of an ear infection. Once the fever started he turned into a clingy baby which he is not so we knew something was wrong. It turns out our little boy has his first ear infections, yes two ear infections! He has done well with his Amoxicillin and seems to be doing better today!
In the midst of a diaper change yesterday, Jacob said MaMaMa and giggled and smiled when I repeated it back to him!! Score for this Mommy!!!

Welcome Baby Kalea Rose!!
How do you find the time!?!
How in the world do people find the time to write in a blog daily or a few times a week? It never seems like I have a dull moment to do anything! I thought during our trip back to America I would have the time to blog about all the things we were doing and seeing but not a chance! I'm going to try this again...what who am I kiddng. I doubt I will be faithful to write in this thing ever! Time will tell.

Mom jeans...
So, my biggest goal for this trip has been to go shopping. Since I have had Jacob my body has totally changed. Changed for the better I guess but changed so much that none of my clothes fit and my jeans stretch out so quickly that it makes me look like I have depends on underneath them! I've been to the mall twice with my sister-in-law and each time walked away with nothing. I do not care for jeans that already have holes in them and I do not care for colored jeans nor do I care for jeans that are so low you can see my bottom when I bend over nor do I care for the high waisted Mom jeans. I finally found some jeans yesterday at GAP, the same place I found my last jeans at 5 years ago. I couldn't be happier! Now if they just had the same jeans in a few different shades I'd be set! Now it's onto shirts since I will venture back into pants later but shirts are proving to be more challenging than the jeans!!

Walmart
So, after not having access to any other store other than the military exchange or commissary for the last year and a half I could not wait to be able to go shopping anywhere. Our first trip was to Walmart. We had to buy the essentials like shampoo and toothpaste since we have learned that those items are just added weight to a suitcase! I was completely overwhelmed by the choices that were there. It may seem silly but looking at 50 to 60 different kinds of deodarant can make my head spin! I ended up choosing one of the travel size deodarants because I could pick from the huge shelf of deodarant. Who could have thought something simple could be so hard. I have now been to walmart two more additional times but have gone with a mission each time and for only one or two items which seemed much more managable.
Our big adventure!
Jacob and myself survived our big adventure across the international dateline. We arrived in Florida late friday night. I don't think I could have been any happier to hear "Welcome to Pensacola". That to me meant no more plane rides. We left Okinawa at 1215 pm. Jacob did great on the first flight. He nursed himself to sleep and then slept the majority of the flight. We landed in Tokyo and of course Jacob decided it was a swell idea to have a diaper explosion before deplaning. Other than that the first flight was great. We got checked in with our American flight and the customer service repersentative opened up the bulkhead seats for us. I had a nice roomy seat with a wonderful empty seat next to me. Jacob again nursed himself to sleep. I requested a baby bassinet and he slept in it probably 9 hours out of the 10 hour or so flight and only woke up a few times to nurse and then back to sleep. We landed and slowly made the painful process of going thru customs and then collecting our luggage. I somehow managed to lose my boarding pass at Dallas so I had a new one issued. Jacob screamed the whole time in the line for security. We boarded finally our flight to Pensacola and Jacob ate and went to sleep again. Maybe he is just like his Daddy and can sleep in any object that is moving!! Hopefully, his sleeping will return on our return flight to Okinawa in a few months!
